Lucas's Adventures with Flipper
My Weekend with
Flipper
Friday Sept. 19th
I showed my mom,
dad, and my sister, Samantha who Flipper actually WAS and let my sister hold a
little while. Friday was a low key day but Flipper and I were excited when Mom
and Dad said we’re going to Baskin Robins; but Flipper was not happy when there
wasn’t a 32nd flavor called Tuna Surprise. We almost got KICKED OUT
OF THE RESTAURANT because HE made such a
SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When we came home, we did give him a little
treat to cheer him up.
Saturday Sept 20
OK so today is probably the WHINIEST day I’ve EVER HAD! So here’s how it started. We were getting Starbuck’s when we ACCIDENTALLY forgot to get Flipper something. Boy, YOU should here him WHINE! He started BAWLING and didn’t stop until he got his rights from the PENGUIN’S CONSTITUTION!!!! So that’s 15 minutes of my life I can NEVER get back! Then, when we were getting my allergy shot Flipper got REALLY I mean REALLY scared of the tiny, little needle. Gosh! I’m asking you guys did Flipper behave like that with YOU?!
Then, Flipper played Club Penguin for the rest of the time.
Sunday Sept 21.
We went to Mateo’s house and saw his puppy. He was black and small. Flipper was cheering me on like CRAZY when I scored 5 goals in soccer. The game was tied 7-7. Then we got DQ®. I Got a Twisted Chocolate-Vanilla Chocolate Dipped Cone. Flipper got a Caramel Cheesequake® shake. He drank it all.
At bedtime, we brushed Flipper’s teeth, gave him a bath and he read with me.
Flipper has good hygiene, especially dental.
Flipper enjoys Captain Underpants and the Tyrannical Retaliation of the Turbo Toilet 2000. He said it was funny, nonsense, and it was hysterical.

September Student Challenge: Function Machine
Function Machine |
Each month the students will have the opportunity to complete a “Student Challenge!” I will propose a challenge for the students to complete that focuses on a concept or topic we are learning in class. They will have at least one week (and sometimes several weeks) to submit their answers, research, or projects to me. If they accurately complete the challenge, their names will be added to our Student Challenge bulletin board. For each challenge that they complete, a star will be added next to their names! The Student Challenges are completely optional, but highly encouraged. It provides students with the opportunity to use their creativity and presentation skills. Those students who complete the monthly Student Challenges will have the opportunity to share their work with their classmates and it will be featured on our blog.
This month's challenge: Create your very own function machine! Show your family and friends how it works, and then bring it to school to show your classmates! Please turn your function machine in by Tuesday, September 30th.
The above video is a sample of the function machine that I made and showed the class today.
