Jameson's Adventures with Little Blue

On Friday Little Blue and I went to the Fall Fest and had a lot of fun, but Little Blue got lost and ended up at the front desk.  He stayed up late but he did not get cranky.  When we were there we had popcorn.  Little Blue loved it.  He wished he could have a whole truck of it.  When I walked in I could smell the popcorn.  It smelled like the popcorn at the movie theater .  When I came in my dad bought me some popcorn.  My dad bought my sister and brother some popcorn and some for himself too.   Then my friend Addison and I went out and started playing games.  Our first game was fish the pumpkin out of the bowl.  It was fun. There was a stick attached to a string like a fishing pole and there was a magnet at the end of the string and on the pumpkin there was a paperclip so it could attach to the magnet.  The next game we played was stacking cups and you had to stack 20 cups and I stacked every one of them.  It was fun knocking them down.  Then we played pumpkin toss where you toss bottle caps and stems of pumpkins.

Saturday was a cold, windy day.  I wouldn't let Little Blue go outside even though he really wanted to.  I did not want him to go outside because he might get a cold.  Since my brother had a soccer game I still had to come to it but I stayed in the car the whole time.

On Sunday Little Blue and I went to my grandma and grandpa's house.  First we went to the park but Little Blue did not come because I did not want him to get lost like last time.  It did not take us a long time to get there because it was just across the street.  Little Blue loved meeting my stuffed animals and my sister's stuffed animals.  He loved meeting Piggy, Bunny, Lamby, and Stripes.

Making Models in Science

This week students learned about and compared the benefits and disadvantages of different types of models. We also discussed why models are important and how we use them in both science and every day situations.

Tyler's Adventures with Little Blue

Little Blue and I had a great weekend. When I got him he was walking home with Aiden and me. He got the comfiest seat on the bed. We slept in my room together and dreamt about going to my cousin Brent's house for a sleepover.

SATURDAY
Little Blue and I got packed for the sleepover. When we were driving we looked at the beautiful sky. It looked like Little Blue! When we got there he jummped on his feet and set up his sleeping spot in the basement on the couch. We played wii sports resort. We played basketball and Little Blue was on a team with me VS. Brent. I lost 2 to 1. Then Brent and I went outside to play basketball. Little Blue watched us. Then we played Super Smash Brawl. I dominated with Pikachu vs. Brent. We got tired and wanted to go to bed but we watched a little Phineas and Furb then went to bed.

SUNDAY
I woke up at 7:19 am. We played more wii sports basketball. He was sitting next to me. Then we ate eggs and bacon. Then my mom and Erica came to pick me up. When we got home I watched the Bears with my dad. Then I did my homework and my Little Blue story. He and I did woodworking. I put my name on a boomerang and put details on a bracelet. That's my Little Blue story!

Map Projects

As a culminating project, students created their very own countries! They carefully and creatively designed maps of their islands and presented them to the class.

Monster Writing Excerpts

Every two weeks or so I will be posting new writing excerpts from our WEX writing unit. These featured pieces of prose exemplify the writing skills that we are practicing in class. After hanging the excerpts, the class determines which skills were demonstrated and why each piece was selected for our "Monster Journal Excerpts" board. We already have six wonderful examples of the use of descriptive words, showing details, and exaggeration. Way to go writers!
