Writing Excerpts
A few times each month students' WEX (writing) binders are collected and some strong samples of writing are displayed for the class to see. These "Monster Journal Excerpts" are read to the class and then hung on the white board. The children then discuss the strengths of these pieces, which serve as inspiration for future writing lessons.
